TIM MOSS is a fellow of the Royal Geographic Society and has worked for the British Schools Exploring Society. His own adventures include the first - and first British - ascents of mountains in Kyrgystan, Russia and Bolivia; travelling around the world using different transport methods; and swimming the Thames.
